The NOW! Test™ is a simple and rapid test (12 hours) for Gram negative bacteria. Utilizing a unique enzyme detection method, the easy to read fluorometer checks for the Gram negative bacterial growth (<10 cfu) by reading telltale fluorescence in the recaptured water. If the fluorometer reading is positive for Gram negative bacteria, reprocess the tested item following the manufacturer guidelines.

Ideal for use with Midbrook Medical’s “UV Flash”, but capable of testing full room UV disinfectors these ultraviolet indicators activate and perform a color change when exposed to at least 254nm UV-C for one minute. These indicators are a great way to make sure that UV disinfectors are working correctly!

When using an automated instrument washer, the temperature of the initial rinse water should not exceed 45°C (113°F) and should remain significantly below this level. At 45°C, blood quickly denatures and becomes highly insolvent. If the washer utilizes an enzyme detergent, it is important that the temperature remain within the optimal range (typically 100°F - 125°F).
