My Father-in-Law is fond of saying "The older you get, the quicker the days go by". Maybe that is why special days and dates seem to become more important as we get older. Next week is a milestone for me as the daughter of my Father-in-Law celebrates a significant birthday (you didn't hear it from me of course!). Years go by, decades go by and sometimes we seem unable to appreciate the fruits of our labors, personal and professional. But then a significant date occurs and the time comes to take stock and appreciate the progress. So, as I take the opportunity to take stock in progress that I have been a part of, I encourage you, our loyal reader, to do the same. Give yourself a pat on the back for the part you have played in improving the delivery of healthcare to patients - you deserve it.
