I don't think it matters how long you have lived in Michigan, this time of year it gets cold and I never seem to get used to temperatures under 10 degrees Fahrenheit. The forecast is calling for a 50 degree day today, so we will get a break from having to bundle up with down filled coats, scarves, gloves and warm hats. For those of you that know me, know that I always wear a hat anytime its under 40 degrees, because I don't have a lot of hair to protect me from the elements. It is important to protect yourself in the environment you're in and particularly when you are working in the decontam department. Be sure that you wear personal protection equipment (PPE) of high quality that complies with OSHA standards. There are a variety of products, including gloves, face shields, gowns and boots, that can offer you additional protection when working with contaminated instruments and equipment.
