The 44th Annual SGNA (Society for Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates) meeting in New Orleans was the perfect learning opportunity for me. This meeting gave me the chance to speak with industry professionals about current issues and new topics in gastroenterology. The theme of this meeting was "jazz up your GI journey", and this session really jazzed up my awareness of certain topics such as cleaning verification and how very important quality assurance tests are. On the final day of the conference, those that entered to win a prize with the Passport to Prizes Giveaway we're anxiously awaiting their names to be called. When it was Healthmark's turn to call off the chosen winner, Jill Bendiske-Minor, great cheers came from her table. Jill is an active board member of the Minnesota chapter of SGNA. We just wanted to say thank you to Jill for her hard work and dedication in the field and know that we will continue to support in any way we can. Without Jill and every other dedicated GI nurse, SGNA would not be possible. Signage throughout the conference read, "invest in yourself, inspire others," and that truly is what helps make the continuous improvement of this field possible.
