The weather is breaking and it's that time of year to open the windows and break out the cleaning supplies for deep spring cleaning. Washing the windows, wiping the walls, cleaning the appliances, shampooing the carpets; the list can seem endless. For every task, many tools and cleaning supplies are needed, but the satisfaction of a clean house makes the effort worth it. Much like various items in your home, surgical instruments require special equipment in order to clean them properly. Endoscopes, for an example, may require a pre-cleaning with a lint-free wipe before being reprocessed. Because of the tubular design, you may decide that using a tubular sponge might be more effective. When cleaning specialty instruments, remember to reference the IFU for cleaning instructions and always be prepared with the right supplies when manually cleaning.
