This is always the time of the year when family and friends get together and celebrate Independence Day with parades, barbecues, fireworks, and family reunions. Many times at these reunions we talk about the good times and the bad times we have all shared. What comes out of these talks is we understand each other better and try not to make the same mistakes twice. Last week we had two stories that centered on cleaning. Cintas issued a check list for cleaning in Healthcare and the VA reported another concern centered on cleaning. Just like at a family reunion we need to look at these stories and see what we can learn and apply to our own work place. We have to understand that mistakes do happen but if we learn from the mistakes and understand why they happened, the situation will get better. To me, when mistakes happen, the message is always the same: "apply what you have learned". I do hope everybody enjoyed their Fourth of July.
